We craft heirlooms, memoirs and family books - here's what inspires us!

Our first public book, and the world's easiest way to record your stories.

As we enter the last stretch of 2021 (and what another year it’s been!), we thought we’d wriggle once more into your inbox.

We've worked on a lot of great projects this past year, but with the Christmas season upon us, we thought we'd highlight these two:

We released our first public book.

Yes, you read that right.

In 2018, Lorraine O'Connor commissioned us to work on the story of her great-grandfather, Joseph Salvatori. The book tells the incredible story of a migrant who:

  • Left Corsica for Venezuela in search of a better life, with no more than 35 francs to his name.

  • Fled to Trinidad in 1910 under gunfire and built a business empire that included the Caribbean's iconic Salvatori department store.

  • Went on to represent Caribbean involvement in WWII's Free French movement, which led to a personal relationship with General Charles de Gaulle.

The book is beautifully crafted, and you could (*wink*) order a copy just in time for Christmas. It ships anywhere in the world!

MemoryLines: Podcast-style interviews on personalised web pages.

We launched our podcast-style phone interviews at the height of the pandemic, and it is still the world's easiest way to record your family's stories.

So far, we have done interviews with families from as far and wide as North America, the Caribbean and Europe. Interviews are in either English or French...

There could not be a more timely (and timeless) Christmas gift!

And finally, a poignant testimonial from the past few months:

It’s hard to imagine a better way to have spent my money than on recording my Dad’s life history!

I purchased an interview for my 79-year-old father because he tells the best stories but we haven’t managed to capture them and I worry I won’t remember the details to share with his grandchildren one day. From start to finish the process was easy and meaningful.

A lovely interviewer called my Dad and he was really energized by the chat and inspired to record more of his stories. I suspect I will be reaching out to Plantain again though because we all always talk about how we must record stories and never seem to get around to it. That’s why I love what they are doing at this company.

Everyone deserves to have their story recorded, remembered and most importantly SHARED with the entire family! Thanks so much Felicia and team!
